In 2013, Miyesha Cheeks founded To Our Shores with a simple mission: to close the gaps in care for people living with HIV. What began as a small effort to meet urgent needs has grown into a full-service Ryan White clinic serving over 230 HIV-positive patients in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with more walking through the doors every week.
The clinic’s growth over the past year has been striking. The patient population has more than doubled in the past 9 to 12 months. That growth has been driven almost entirely by referrals from existing patients, a reflection of the trust and sense of belonging people feel when they step through the door.
That loyalty comes from the care and experience To Our Shores offers. Patients see the clinic as a place where they are welcomed and supported, not just medically, but in every part of their lives. The team offers HIV treatment and prevention, STI screening and treatment, a food pantry, a computer lab with resume support, and events like movie nights and job prep workshops. The clinic is open six days a week and serves a wide range of patients, including LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and people who are uninsured or underinsured. The staff’s commitment to building community is what makes people stay, and what makes them refer their friends and family.
And today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of To Our Shores’ new in-house pharmacy, in partnership with Alchemy!
For years, the clinic worked with contract pharmacy partners. But as To Our Shores grew, so did the need for more transparency. Leadership wanted full visibility into how 340B revenue was being generated, and to make sure those dollars were going directly back into services for patients.
To Our Shores partnered with Alchemy to build and launch the new pharmacy. From day one, the focus was on getting it right. Alchemy supported everything from licensing and inspections to pharmacy design and integration. The result is a fully operational on-site pharmacy that feels like a natural extension of the clinic, both in culture and care.
The pharmacy is already reducing delays, improving convenience, and giving patients a more seamless experience. Now, when someone comes in for an appointment, they can leave with their medications in hand.
As the clinic continues to grow, Miyesha Cheeks remains focused on the mission. It is about making high quality, compassionate care accessible to everyone who needs it. And with the pharmacy now open, To Our Shores is more equipped than ever to deliver on that promise.
Working with the Alchemy team to launch our pharmacy has been such a positive experience. They’re responsive, knowledgeable, and hands-on, helping us navigate everything from licensing to setup.
